William Lightfoot papers 1980-1990.

The William Lightfoot Papers consists of 291 folklore research papers written by Lightfoot's students. Students conducted interviews, including informant and interviewer biographical information. These interviews were used as the springboard for analysis of various folklore topics. Subject matter varies: herb lore, superstitions, family stories, songs, ghost stories, and tales predominate. Unique subjects include graffiti, illicit drug lore, hand-tied lace, witchcraft, Swift's Silver Mine, marching band beliefs, cafeteria folklore, and Greek folklore. Earlier papers include audiocassettes of the interviews.
